Education: Elementary and high school in Castlegar, BC. Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia – Okanagan. Master's in Coastal and Marine Management from the University Centre of the Westfjords in Ísafjörður, Iceland. Currently doing a PhD. at the University of Iceland.
Experience: I conducted orca research and learnt basic sailing through the Beam Reach program at the University of Washington. Later, I interned at the Vancouver Aquarium as an interpreter on site and as a marine biology and conservation traveling educator. In 2013, I attended the marine mammals course here in Húsavík and then conducted my master's thesis on the humpback whales in Skjálfandi Bay. Now I am both working with GG and conducting PhD. humpback whale research here in Húsavík.
