Ciao bella megattera…

One of the most spectacular nights, thus far, by what must have been more than 10 humpback whales – known as megattera in Italian - in Skjálfandi bay. The night was special indeed as 3 different humpback whales breached for a total of 17 times! For gentle giant watchers Milena Forlani and Marco Petresini from Bergamo Italy, this is what they had to say…

"E’ stata unésperienza unica ed emozionante...provatela!!!! altrimenti non potreste dire di avere visto la vera islanda.non avremmo mai pensato che animali cosi´ grossi potessero compiere salti del genere. Penso che presto la ripeteremo. Buona islanda a tutti!!!!"

-It has been a unique and amazing experience...try it!!!!
Otherwise you couldn't say you saw the true Iceland.
We never have thought that so huge animals could jump in that way.
We will probably soon repeat such experience. Enjoy Iceland!!!!-

We thank Milena Forlani and Marco Petresini once again for coming along with Gentle Giants and choosing us to take them on an adventure around Skjálfandi bay to witness Iceland’s natural beauty and experience what true whale watching is like. Also a special thank you to Milena and Marco from Gentle Giants for those amazing pictures! Grazie di Husavik, Iceland!!!
