THE "SLEEPING" HUMPBACK

This morning our crew and passengers onboard Faldur had special encounters with a humpback whale. The humpback was sleeping next to the boat ...

First of all, crew and passengers thought they were seeing driftwood, but after a closer look it was clear that this was a humpback sleeping and logging on the surface.

Whales are believed to sleep for very short time spans. Only half of their brain is resting during their “sleep”, because if they shut their entire brain down, they would stop breathing.
