PERFECT WHALE WATCHING CONDITIONS

The last days have been unbelievable ….. Skjalfandi Bay has been shaking with life and weather conditions have been absolutely perfect!

Our “usual” tour the last days consists of up to 8 humpback whales along with minkes and dolphins. It is quite unusual to see so many humpbacks in the bay; they come here to feed so there must be plenty of food in the bay now.

Some of those humpbacks have been very playful and on two tours yesterday a humpback whale breached over 30 times only a few metres from the boat!

The high season is at its highest now and Husavik has been full of people. Many passengers are going out to Skjalfandi bay to experience the whale festival out there.

Recently we had a nice visit of two big scout groups from all over the world. They were participants on an international jamboree in Iceland and one of their adventures was to visit Husavik and go whale watching with us. All the scouts enjoyed the whale watching and returned to their camp with big smiles.

The weather forecast for the next days is promising. Until 10^th August we offer 7 tours daily at 8:45, 9:45, 12:00, 13:15, 15:15, 16:45 and 20:15.
