SEPTEMBER WHALE WATCHING – BLUE + BOTTLENOSE
The month of August is coming to an end and tomorrow we start our September schedule. From 1st - 10th September we will offer two whale watching tours daily at 9:45 and 13:15. After 10th September we have one trip every day at 9:45.
The last weeks in the bay have been very special. Northern bottlenose whales have been our main stars in our tours. They are very uncommon in our bay – they prefer deeper waters and therefore very seldom seen here. The bottlenose whales have been very active and playful; and in some trips we have been seeing two of them jumping together high out of the water!
Yesterday morning we had another big surprise in our bay – a BLUE WHALE! In our morning tour onboard Sylvia, passengers and crew were extremely lucky to be able to see the biggest animal on earth! Blue whales are more common in our bay earlier in the season and therefore a big and nice surprise. Unfortunately the big blue didn’t stay for long, but as we say – nature is definitely unpredictable and anything can happen out on the bay … !!
