WHALE WATCHING UPDATES ...
September is usually a quite month in the whale watching. The number of tourists in Husavik decreases, the weather conditions change, and the bigger whales start migrating to warmer waters in lower latitudes.
This month we’ve had some bad days regarding the weather and some cancelled tours. Despite that, five different species of whales have been spotted in the bay this month. Harbour porpoises, white-beaked dolphins, minkes, northern bottlenose whales and humpback whales. Some tours have been difficult regarding whale sightings – but that is how nature is, unpredictable!
Season is nearing to its end, and only a few weeks left of whale watching. In October we will offer a whale watching departure every Saturday and Sunday at 9:45. Contact us for more info.
