FROM BLUE SKY TO BLUE SEA

A group of eight pilots joined our afternoon trip today after landing their three aeroplanes at Húsavík airport. They are members of a flight club called “Aeroclub de la Brie”, which has its home hangar near to Paris in France. Those flight enthusiasts left their home country some days ago and have since then landed in Humberside (UK), Wick (UK), Vágar (Faroe Islands), Höfn (Iceland) for to - at last but not least - go down in Húsavík. Our local airport is nowadays only open on special occasions - and this was one of them. Danni, who has always dreamt of becoming a pilot, was happy to guide on the 13:15 trip during amazing weather conditions.

After a lucky humpback tour our pilots went back to the airport to continue their journey. Before we said good bye, they promised to fly a round over our bay and town before heading on further. Said and done. Half an hour later they sailed over our heads in Húsavík. We waved towards the sky in a wish of luck on their future adventurous.
