THE FUTURE OF GENTLE GIANTS

Many people have asked if we are sisters - the manager's daughter Sylvía Dís Stefánsdóttir and I. We are not, but I understand why people think so... We look alike, we speak the same language (I practise my Icelandic on her) and we had a lot of fun when selling tickets together earlier today.

Sylvía helped me in the Ticket Centre for some hours in the afternoon. When customers came she stamped the tickets, helped me with the cash register and changed the departure sign after the boat had left. It felt funny to tell pople who bought tickets; "...and the boat that you will go on is called Sylvía", but our biggest boat is actually named after this adorable little girl.

It has been nice to have company while selling tickets and to "train" someone who is so young, but yet so enthusiastsic.
If you visit Gentle Giants in a few years I bet it will be Sylvía selling you your tickets.

It is still a bit high up to change the sign, but in a few years she will be ready for it all!
