LOBTAILING HUMPBACK + FIVE MINKES
My day on Skjálfandi Bay has indeed been very successful. On both tours we had good weather and lots of whales!
It started of this morning when captain Bessi and I went on the first trip after the storm. Entering Skjálfandi Bay with no expectations, we were lucky enough to find a humpback whale, which I spotted after only 30 minutes of sailing from the harbour.
The humpback was seen on both tours, together with many minke whales and rich bird life. On my second tour, the humpback was even lob tailing just next to the boat. A beautiful scene!
Hopefully all this life in the bay is a sign of a good summer to come.
