BLUE & HUMPS

It is fascinating how fast the life can change in the bay. As I say to all my passengers, every tour is a complete new adventure – even for the crew onboard.

At 12:00 captain Kalli and I went on Sylvía, headed west towards the mountains of Kinn. From the morning tour onboard Faldur, we knew they had spotted a humpback whale so we were hoping that the humpback would still be there. And sure it was!

After some time of sailing in good weather I spotted a blow in the distance. At first I thought we had found the humpback, but when we got closer I realised that what I had in front of me was something even bigger – a real gentle giant. We had found a blue whale!

We spent some quality time with the big blue and got great views. It was amazing to be in the presence of this largest animal on earth. To top the trip, on the way home we spotted two humpbacks, which were calm and just logging on the surface.

One woman from Switzerland onboard had never seen whales before – and she was indeed happy after a tour like this.
