FESTIVAL DAYS IN HÚSAVÍK
Those days the summer is high in Húsavík. Loads of people wander the streets, enjoy the sun and go whale watching. There is an annual festival going on over the weekend, called Mærudagar (Candy Days).
The town is divided into three areas representing one colour each; orange, green and pink. People wear those colours as well as decorate their houses, cars and dogs. There are guests in nearly every house and locals who once moved away return just for Mærudagar.
There are loads of things going on in town; famous bands hold concerts, food is sold all over the harbour and on Saturday evening there will be a big bonfire on the beach.
Gentle Giants contributes through holding our annual sea angling competition tomorrow (Saturday). Among many other great prices you can win a flight to Europe with Iceland Express, credit in the bank Sparisjóðurinn, a gift certificate by Fosshotel and Töff Health Centre.
New for this year is that we will also have 40 minutes adrenalin sailings on our new RHIB Amma Sigga. Appreciated parts of all the fun which is going on in Húsavík during those days.
Welcome!
