PROMISING START OF SEPTEMBER
The first days of September have already past and the whales are still in Skjálfandi Bay. Both humpbacks and minkes could be seen during the trips. The whales have been very calm, while resting on the surface, and they let the boats come very close.
But not only the big whales have been nice to watch these days. The sea has been calm and made it possible to see the small dorsal fins of harbour porpoises as well. They are some of the smallest whales on Earth and look like cute baby whales when they are swimming around us, next to the big boats.
So all in all it is a very good and promising start of September and we can just hope and cross our fingers (and fins) for that it goes on like that.
