SEA-ANGLING IN THE SUN
Today as well as yesterday we could enjoy Skjálfandi Bay in gorgeous weather. Hardly any wind was blowing and the bay has been showing its full beauty. This compensates us for the lack of the big whales which have not been seen during the last days, when we instead enjoyed the presence of the smaller ones.
Nevertheless we tried to make the best of the situation and went out for sea-angling trips. Mainly cod was caught and it was filleted by captain Bessi. Not only the passengers, but also the northern fulmars were happy for a nice dinner...
The birds followed us the whole time. Around the boat everything was white because of them. Finally they were rewarded for their patience when the leftovers from the filleted fish landed in the water.
Hopefully we will also be rewarded for our patience within the next days. It would be great to welcome another humpback or minke whale! Fingers crossed that their travels will lead them into Skjálfandi bay soon. Maybe already tomorrow morning...?
Captain Bessi and a happy passenger who just caught his own dinner.
Another lucky one with a nice cod.
Hungry northern fulmars waiting for their share of the catch...
