STORM IN HÚSAVÍK

Húsavík looks completely white today. The storm started yesterday and since then strong winds, snow and big waves out at sea is all that we have had. We got phone calls from our guests this morning saying they were stuck in Akureyri not being able to make the one hour drive to Húsavík because of the road conditions. Our trips had to be cancelled, waves are too big out there!

According to the weather forecast, it should be getting better by the middle of the week. If you are in the area and plan to visit us, you are welcome to give us a call (+354 464 1500) and we will inform you about how it looks here. For those travelling in the north these days, here you have two very useful sites to check: weather forecast and road conditions.

The bay was full of life during the last days. Whales and birds have already made their way back to Skjálfandi. First artic terns were spotted last week and puffins are all over the place. We will be soon starting our scheduled trips to Puffin Island where thousands of them can be spotted. We can't wait to be out again...
