LUCKY IN ALL WAYS - ESPECIALLY WHALE-WISE
Last week we were extremely lucky during our whale watching trips – not only with the weather, but also whale-wise. Most of the whales decided to spend their weekend in the bay. Maybe also this week...?
Yesterday we encountered three different humpback whales. Two of them have been in the bay for quite a while and they seemed to be happy to see us too. One even jumped completely out of the water only five metres away from the boat. The third humpback whale we saw yesterday was a newcomer. It had never been seen by in the bay before, as far as we know.
Furthermore two groups of dolphins and several minke whales also made their way into the bay and showed up close to our boats.
We also continued our puffin trips to Puffin Island, where we could see The Clowns of the Ocean preparing their nests. They were really busy with digging and cleaning the burrows in which they will lay their eggs soon.
Definitely a perfect start of the week!
