BLUE + HUMP
The big blues are still around and have been spotted on some of the tours the last days. This morning, passengers and crew on board Faldur got the privilege to be in the presence of a mighty blue whale and a humpback whale, as well as seeing a group of white-beaked dolphins.
Weather conditions were perfect – flat sea, clear sky and sunshine. It is always exciting seeing the big whales such as blue whales. Just the size of the animals is amazing, but they can reach up to 30 metres and 190 tons.
In the last years June has been the most common for blue whales in Skjálfandi Bay, and hopefully they will stay around for some time to come.
