FESTIVAL DAYS IN HÚSAVÍK (1)

Those days the summer is high in Húsavík. Loads of people wander the streets, enjoy the sun (which is shining bright and warm) and go whale watching. There is an annual festival going on over the weekend, called Mærudagar - Candy Days.

The town is divided into three areas representing one colour each; orange, green and pink. People wear those colours as well as decorate their houses, cars and dogs. There are guests in nearly every house and locals who once moved away return just for Mærudagar.

There are loads of things going on in town and most of the life is down the harbour; bands hold concerts, DJ Maceo has come all the way from London to top the party in Pallurinn's tent and the great bearnese-burgers are available by Salka outside Gentle Giants's workshop - to mention a few things.

Gentle Giants contributes through holding our annual sea angling competition which is still going on at the moment. Among many other great prices you can win a flight to Europe with Iceland Express, credit in the bank Sparisjóðurinn, a gift certificate by Fosshotel and Töff Health Centre.

This is Summer in Húsavík with capital S and H.

Welcome!
