HUMPBACK BY THE MOUNTAINS
Though we were confronted with a foggy sea and some snow flurries while we were going out this morning, we could finally locate the humpback whale, which we had already watched during the past trips.
Just like the other days, the animal was hanging out in the water close to the mountains and once again we got the chance to observe it for some time. While the boat was just drifting on the sea, the humpback was coming closer, checking out the boat, which passes by for a visit every once in a while.
The passengers were fascinated by the sight of the gentle giant, while the captain and I got a good feeling from seeing the same whale yet another time. In fact, for the moment it still seems to be the only humpback in the bay, but nevertheless there seems to be good food around, raising our hopes, that there will come more whales pretty soon. Besides, for now we are glad to have this whale in the bay, which is not bothered by being watched and obviously enjoys its stay in Skjálfandi Bay.
