PERFECT WATCHING FEEDING WHALES
Yesterday was an amazing day to go whale watching. The sun was shining, the sea was flat like a floor and we encountered feeding whales and loads of birds on the other side of the bay. The area was boiling with life!
The best thing when finding a feeding area, is that whales and birds flock around one limited spot. Through going there we get the chance of frequent and close encounters - whale watcher's dream!
Two calm humpbacks and at least one minke whale were enjoying the lunch buffet that Skjálfandi Bay had to offer. Captain Björgvin switched off the engine and there we were, drifting and listening to nothing but the sound of nature; chattering sea birds and the sudden and powerful sound of the big whales' blows.
