HUMPBACK WHALES IN SKJÁLFANDI
We have been lucky with the amount of humpback whales that feed in Skjálfandi Bay, in recent years and lately. They are great gentle giants to watch as they almost always raise their beautiful flukes up in the air before a deep dive, which is a breath-taking moment every time it happens.
Below you see some photos from a Big Whale Safari tour the other day. There were three humpback whales together in one area and a single one in another part of the bay. “It was a great trip!” said guide Þröstur, who also took the photos.
