ANNIVERSARY IN NAUSTAVÍK
Time flies and yesterday it was already a year ago since Daniel and I got married in Naustavík – the little paradise in the mountains on the other side of our bay.
We combined our anniversary celebration with some general GG-staff quality time. The crew went by RIB across the bay to Naustavík and enjoyed a relaxed evening in the unspoiled nature.
It was a very nice feeling to return to this magical place. Especially as the weather was just as great as that beautiful evening one year ago. The driftwood we used then as benches were all like we left them and even the same bonfire skeleton was still standing. We added some new wood to the remains of our old bonfire and used it again.
Together we enjoyed grilled food in the open air. Most of us also climbed up the hill to the house that is always just as nice to visit. It was built in 1925 and some admirable people lived there permanently until 1940. In honour of the builders, the current owners have decided to preserve the house in historical style.
Naustavík is a wonderful place that we can see from Húsavík every day, but is not easily accessible unless by boat. The easiest way to get there is through great memories and imagination.
