NEVER GETTING TIRED OF WHALES
Many people might wonder if we never get tired of watching whales. Just to let you know: WE DON'T, NOT AT ALL!
The other day has been one of these many amazing whale watching trips. A beautiful day was waiting for us out in the bay, but of course we know that weather conditions and spotting whales don´t go hand in hand. Above that, whenever we go out, we don't know what we are going to find out in the bay.
We were running our 12:30 "GG2 Big Whale Safari and Puffins"-tour as usual.
We went to Puffin Island first and many of the so-called “clowns of the ocean” were awaiting us there, bobbing on the waves or resting on Puffin Island. Simply perfect!
Then it was time to look for whales. It took a while, but when Captain Sverrir suddenly changed the ship´s course I knew it was time to get to see one of the gentle giants.
It was a humpback whale indeed. It was most of the time close to the surface, blowing from time to time. Our passengers got to see it up close underwater for a very long time. There is nothing that needs to be said when this happens. We were completely amazed, and a peaceful feeling invaded us.
