AMMA SIGGA THE 2ND
Last night a new boat arrived to the harbour of Húsavík as an addition to Gentle Giant’s fleet. “She” is named Amma Sigga, just as the first RIB boat of the company, which came to Húsavík in 2011. Now it was time to upgrade her to a better boat to better serve our passengers.
All our RIBs were built in Poland and brought to Iceland to be used for whale watching in Skjálfandibay. Just as the other RIBs also the new boat is going to be used for the “GG2 Big Whale Safari and Puffins” as well as for private and fun trips, but also tailor-made tours.
“Amma” means Grandma in Icelandic. Both, Kibba and Sigga are the grandmothers of Gentle Giants’ CEO, Stefán Guðmundsson.

Short before midnight our crew went out on "Amma Kibba" to welcome the new RIB of our fleet. With Stefán Guðmundsson - the company's CEO - as a captain, new Amma Sigga arrived to the harbor last night. It was brought to Akureyri and then sailed to the harbor of Húsavík.
