BLUE FLAG FOR WHALE WATCHING BOATS
Recently, the Icelandic Environment Association awarded Gentle Giants the "Blue Flag for Whale Watching Boats" for 2015 for agreeing to an environmental code of conduct that protects the bay and all the wonderful wildlife that calls it home for some or all of the year.
The Blue Flag is an internationally recognized eco-label that is awarded to beaches, marinas, boats, and whale watching companies who volunteer to adhere to a set of rules aimed at sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. These rules include recycling products, proper disposal of waste, and educating passengers about the whales, birds, and other wildlife, and the importance of protecting the marine environment. Gentle Giants is proud to do our part in protecting the beautiful and unique marine environment found here, to ensure the whales and birds thrive for many years to come.
