COME ON "BOY" - JUMP!

Nature is unpredictable and so are the whales. We never know what is awaiting us out in the bay when leaving the harbour. We don’t know how whales behave and what they are going to do. But yesterday something incredible happened:

On our evening “GG2 Big Whale Safari” we first got see a blue whale, which in the beginning was rather difficult to observe, but then out of the sudden got close to our boat. It’s impressive to see a huge animal like this from 12 meters long RIB Amma Kibba.

But of course we try to show different and as many whales as possible to our passengers. So we started heading for a humpback whale. That was around earlier already but had decided to make fun of us. When far we could see its blow well, but whenever we tried to get to the area it swam in the whale seemed to disappear. So we gave it another try and when we approached it we finally got some amazing views onto it.

But as we are always trying to make the very best out of a trip, Stefán the captain wasn’t satisfied yet and whilst waiting for the humpback to surface again he beseeched him : “COME ON 'BOY' – JUMP!”

No sight of the whale yet and we were running out of time. But then, out of nowhere, the whale broke the surface – AND JUMPED!
