FLATEY'S MAGNIFICENCE
For the 6th time the cruise ship of Iceland ProCruises reached Flatey today in the early morning. Almost 100 passengers entered the island at around 9am to spend the morning on that beautiful island.
The passengers of the cruise ship were invited for a walk around the island with stops at the church, the lighthouse and the community house. Along the way, the magnificent nature was overwhelming. Bird lovers got a great show as the breeding season is still in full swing.
The cruise ship will arrive to the island once more in the beginning of August. Our crew is already looking forward to welcome another group of passengers on that lovely, but remote place out in the bay.

The view onto the island and the Cheek Mountains on the other side of the bay seen from the community house.
In several areas of the island huge groups of puffins are breeding at the moment.
Many of the puffins didn't seem to mind the guests at all. Instead, one could get very close.

At the lighthouse our guests are able to get a great view: One can see almost the entire island from above.
