A GUIDE'S FAVOURITE TOURS
During the summer time days are long in Iceland. For many weeks darkness doesn’t occur at all and even in August dusk starts late only. Hence, we also offer evening departures – one on the RIBs and another on the traditional oak boats. Passengers get to see the amazing evening lights in that time of the year along the calmness of the evening. I am talking about this special atmosphere, when everything around slowly gets to rest, the village falls asleep and the only thing one hears is the noise of nature.
To leave the harbour at that time to sail out for watching whales, dolphins and all the busy seabirds should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Impossible to describe that great feeling and the calmness, which overwhelms you at that moment.
As a guide, I like these tours the most. There is something special about it what can’t be said in words…
Still until the end of August we offer the 7pm “GG2 Big Whale Safari and Puffins” departure on our RIB boats. Until the 20st of August we also sail an evening tour (“GG1 Whale Watching”) on the traditional oak boats, which leaves at 8pm! Check out the schedule here!
