THREE MINKES AND A HUMPBACK IN CALM SEA

Over night the weather conditions in the bay calmed down a lot and we were surprised by an almost flat sea this morning. Even though it stayed a little foggy throughout the day, we at least got a glimpse onto the Cheek Mountains on the other side of the bay.

Also whales were sighted on all our departures. Several minkes but also a humpback were visiting Skjálfandibay. Especially the humpback behaved rather relaxed and never dived far away from the boats. It was easy to follow the whale on its way through the bay. We saw it breezing close to the boat and lifting its fluke again and again when leaving for another dive.
