HAPPY PASSENGER'S PHOTO COLLECTION
The other day an email packed with amazing photos reached us here in Húsavík. Hendrik de Vusser had been out with us on a whale watching trip on the 5th of September.
When watching the photos I remember the trip which Hendrik de Vusser joined. We were lucky to get two humpbacks at a time next to the boat. When about to leave, one of the humpbacks suddenly threw its entire body out of the water. 40tons were flying through the air right behind us. Even as a guide I never seen a breach up close as that afternoon.
Following photos display his whale encounters. Many thanks Hendrik for sharing your experience and photos with us and others.

One of the humpbacks breached right behind us - impossible to describe how thrilling it was seeing this 40 tons and about 10 metres long animal throwing itself out of the water.
The whale repeated the behaviour a couple of times until its fellow caught up with him again.
On the trip we got to see several humpback whales in different areas of the bay. Some of them were curious and even swam along our boats for some time.
