FIN WHALES IN THE BAY!
A couple of minutes ago a phone call from our oak boat Sylvía reached the Ticket Center. The boat is currently out on the "GG1 Whale Watching"-trip. Sandra, the guide who spoke on the phone, had simply perfect news:
55 passengers are watching two fin whales in the south of Skjálfandibay at the very moment!!!!
Fin Whales are the second largest whale on earth. They can reach a size of up to 25 meters.
Just about a week ago our boats had spotted 4 fin whales already. Being rather rare visitors in our bay it is a big surprise to see them again!
