WHALES IN BEAUTIFUL WINTER WEATHER

The whale watching has been continuing very successful. Just today we got to see two humpbacks and two minkes – even better: they were all in the same area. There was no need to wait for a whale to surface again after a dive as one of them was up for breathing all the time. Often one just left for another dive when the next one just showed up to accompany us for a few minutes.

In addition to that, yesterday (Saturday, 24th of October) was officially the first day of winter in Iceland. However, it turned out to be not only a date in the calendar but in many parts of North Iceland snow arrived on the same day – including Húsavík. Along whales our passengers got to experience a cold, but beautiful day out at sea with some snow falling from the sky. Winterly, but whale-wise just as awesome as in summer.
