GENTLE GIANTS ATTENDS ICEWHALE’S CODE OF CONDUCT SEMINAR

On Monday evening, IceWhale held their first seminar of the year in Húsavík on the Code of Conduct for responsible whale watching. As Gentle Giants is one of the founding members of IceWhale, everyone from the CEO, managers, captains, guides, and ticket centre staff attended this important meeting. IceWhale is the Icelandic Whale Watching Association, and along with their members, they have developed a Code of Conduct which outlines guidelines for situations including how boats should approach the whales, the length of time they should spend with them, and how the captains and guides on board can assess the whale's behaviour to decide what is the best way to watch each individual animal respectfully. Gentle Giants is a proud member of IceWhale, and is committed to working with them to abide by the code of conduct and give our passengers the best possible experience while still being respectful of the beautiful whales that visit our bay each summer.
