A GIANT SURPRISE IN THE AFTERNOON

In the early afternoon all of us got surprised by a gentle giant visiting Skjálfandi Bay. Though unusual at this time of the year, a blue whale paid our boats a visit. Both, RIB and oak boats were able to admire the largest animal that has ever lived on earth.
Blue whales usually show up throughout June. However, by the arrival of July, most have past Iceland as they are on their migration north towards their feeding grounds.
Today we were taught once again that this is wild nature. And who knows, maybe the blue whale is still in our bay tomorrow!
