LOOKING BACK ON A PERFECT WHALE WATCHING MONTH

August is over and by that, a simply fabulous month finishes. Humpback whales were sighted daily, often several individuals in one area and some would even swim side by side, surfacing and diving synchronically. Curious minke whales had a better look at our boats and also dolphins were showing off numerous times. To top all up, we were visited by 3 different species, which are rarely seen here in Skjálfandi Bay! Twice the long-finned pilot whales showed up, both times in big groups of about 50 and 20 individuals. In between a group of at least 20 killer whales (orcas) amazed everyone as they were spending some time here with their calves, of which one was just recently born. Finally, just some days ago, two sperm whales entered the bay and allowed our boats to get a closer look at these whales.
By 1st of September, we cut down the schedule to following departures:
GG1 Whale Watching departs at 9:45, 13:15 and 16:45!
GG2 Big Whale Safari departs at 9:30, 11:00, 12:30, 14:00 and 16:00!
GG3 Sea Angling departs at 11:00 daily!
