GG WEDDINGS AROUND SKJÁLFANDI BAY
Did you know that Gentle Giants has organised several weddings around Skjálfandi Bay? Imagine getting married in beautiful nature, with the chance of romantic midnight sun and whales blowing in the background.
Apart from whales and rich wildlife, Skjálfandi Bay offers many other possibilities for all kinds of activities and events. Throughout the years, Gentle Giants has planned several weddings which have taken place on Flatey Island or in other remote locations such as Naustavík.
Here are some stories from the weddings:
Flatey Island, 2011
"The whole GG crew has over the weekend been more or less involved in a beautiful wedding which took place on Flatey Island on Saturday. The wedding couple and their 130 guests from all over the world were shipped between Húsavík and Flatey on our boats. There was a full programme of fun until the morning after."

Naustavík, 2013
"Two days ago we realised our dream. "The King" Daniel and I "The Queen" got married in Naustavík, in the presence of family, friends and pure nature. We shipped people across the bay on board our oak boat Sylvía, from Húsavík to Naustavík. Our guests had loads of diverse backgrounds; Iceland, Sweden, Germany, Scotland, India, Turkey and Ireland. Just above the beach, the civil officiant led the ceremony while the sun found its way down the mountain hills to the spot where we were all gathered. A milestone in our lives!"

Flatey Island, 2015
"This past weekend, on July 4th, "The Boss" and "Mrs. Boss" of Gentle Giants got married on beautiful Flatey. Stefán, Gentle Giants CEO, and Jóhanna, Gentle Giants Employee manager, held a lovely ceremony and reception on the island, with their families and friends arriving from all over the world. Especially Stefán has a close connection to the island and history on Flatey since back to his great grandfather, his family has been living there. Even today, now that the island is uninhabited, they continue to use the family home there in the summer time, making it the perfect place for the wedding."
