BLUE WHALE STILL HANGING OUT IN THE BAY

Also yesterday and today we were lucky to encounter the big BLUE WHALE during our „GG1 Whale Watching“ tour which departs daily at 9:45 in the morning.

Blue whales are the largest, but also heaviest animals on earth as they can grow more than 30 metres in length whilst weighing about 200 tons. Along that they are the fastest growing ‘living thing‘ with a baby whale growing a few centimetres daily for the first couple of weeks of its life. On top of that they are known for being the loudest animal: Even if we can’t hear them, it is believed that they could hear each other across distances of up to 1‘600km. So hopefully the one visiting our bay at the moment will call out for more to come!
