WELL-KNOWN FACES AND FLUKES
For the first time this season the cruise ship Ocean Diamond (operated by Iceland ProCruises) has visited Húsavík and passengers joined our whale watching tour as in previous years.
On time also a humpback whale named Orien arrived in Skjálfandi Bay. Already last year Orien had many fans, among the crew as well as among passengers and whenever he was seen he/she was the highlight of the whale watching tour for the cruise ship’s passengers in 2016.
Also today the beloved humpback whale approved once more why one simply has to adore him/her: the whale kept surfacing right next to the boat over and over again and lifted his/her beautiful and significant fluke just meters away from us.
Apart from Orien, about ten different humpback whales were sighted throughout the trip and even more are known to be in the bay!
