WELCOME HOME RIB "AMMA JÓHANNA"

drone footage of ribs

Our newest RIB speed boat named "Amma Jóhanna" has arrived to Húsavík on the 2nd of June in the early evening.

As our other RIBs, the boat is a customised production built by Techno Marine Sp. z o.o. in Poland.
It was welcomed out in the bay and then escorted on its way to the home port by our other RIBs (see aerial photo below).

The boat is named after Jóhanna Jónsdóttir (see image below), the great grandmother of Gentle Giants' CEO Stefán Guđmundsson, who lived with her husband and 16 children at Knarrareyri in Flat Island Valley, which is located along the mountain range of Skjálfandi Bay. "Amma" by the way is the Icelandic word for grandmother.
At the same time the boat is having the same name as Stefán's wife and employee manager of Gentle Giants Jóhanna Sigriđur Svavarsdóttir.

"Amma Jóhanna" will start sailing on schedule along our four other RIBs "Amma Helga" (2016), "Amma Sigga" (2015), "Amma Kibba" (2013) and "Amma Sigga II" (2011) within the next days.
