AN EXCITING AND VERY DIVERSE FIRST DAY

That every tour is a new adventure is not just something we say. Today's two first tours of the season clearly prove this.
A pod of white-beaked dolphins and several harbour porpoises were encountered on the very first trip at 10:45. During the afternoon’s extra departure at 14:15 the conditions had changed already and a pod of eleven orcas and three fin whales were seen instead.
– This was just great! It is fantastic to experience whale encounters like these – and so early in the season too, said passenger Brett Parson from USA with a broad smile after stepping off our oak boat Sylvía in the late afternoon.
Brett summarized the tour with an excited voice and big gestures. Talked about Miro as a knowledgeable guide, appreciated the whales’ cooperation and thought the best ending was the hot chocolate.
– I think anybody who ever comes to Iceland should join a tour with Gentle Giants, said Brett convinced.
This was indeed a very exciting start of the 2018 season and shows just what a fascinating diversity our bay has to offer. Tomorrow is a new day with new adventures and we are already looking forward.
