KINDERGARTEN IN SKJÁLFANDI BAY!

Last days we had really amazing trips, where calves were protagonist. It is the time where a lot of the white-beaked dolphins are giving birth and pods are integrated by several young individuals. They are quite easy to identify, since they love playing and jumping out of the water, while they are being watched by the adults.

Less common is to spot a humpback whale calf in the bay, but some of them reach this area every season. After enjoying the company of the dolphins, we had news of a few humpbacks out of the bay. When we arrived, we could find out that it was a calf who was having fun, breaching for several times in a row, and its mother, always close to it.
