UPDATE FROM HUSAVIK

There is still plenty of action here in the bay, off the coast of Húsavík. We are seeing plenty of humpback whales everyday. A few minke whales and the occasional pod of white-beaked dolphins are also visiting Skjalfandi bay these days. Many minke whales stay in the north and around Iceland all year. So do the white-beaked dolphins. Almost all humpback whales migrate to warmer areas in the winter time. Some leave now, and some leave a few months later. Meaning that there are still plenty of them here! The encounters have been nothing but great. After being out on the bay everyday the past weeks, I would estimate that there has been an average of ten humpbacks in the bay on a daily basis. Today for instant we saw 8 different humpback whales and a pod of around 25 dolphins. Below you will see pictures from earlier today. There is only two weeks left of season 2018. Make sure to not miss out on all the action out here!
