THE SHOW CONTINUES...

whales surfacing

Recently, our tours have been truly magnificent with humpbacks showing up on all our departures. The whales seem to be moving back and forth along the Cheek Mountains feasting on huge amounts of small schooling fish near the coast.

Today again, we were surrounded by a total of seven individuals. Starting off with two whales at first, more and more would suddenly appear in the vicinity, come close at times, emerging from the depth of the sea to all directions of the boat. Unimpressed of our presence and neither caring much about the whale-traffic in the area, all of them would always just continue whatever they were busy with. On and off, two whales would appear near each other, though most of the times it seemed to be more a coincidence than that they were purposely swimming side by side. The show continued and made us laugh at times when again two whales would almost bounce into each other whilst a third one would suddenly return from a dive right next to our boat and spook our passengers with its powerful noisy blow.
