BAY OF LIFE

As days pass by, the north of Iceland is getting more and more colourful. Flowers are growing everywhere and the green of the grass covers the entire countryside. The last bit of snow in the mountains is slowly disappearing and life awakes wherever one looks.
Also the first bird chicks have hatched and their parents are busy feeding the offsprings. Their chirping and singing covers the sky, adding to the summerly atmosphere.
The whales in the bay have been seen feeding actively. There seems to be an abundance of food - such as small schooling fish and krill - since especially humpback whales have been coming together to feed in groups the past days. As one sails through the bay, the whales' spouts appear in various directions. Don't glimpse: their dorsal fins or flukes might break the surface somewhere nearby anytime!
As you continue sailing northwest towards the mountains, the lovely island "Flatey" has once again turned into a summer paradise, especially for those who seek a break from the day to day life in the cities and villages and want to experience the power and tranquility of nature.
