OUR BOAT FALDUR INSPIRATION FOR INTERNATIONAL MODEL SHIP BUILDING
The leading German model ship magazine ModellWerft has just published a detailed front page article featuring a model ship inspired by Gentle Giants boat Faldur.
It certainly was a great surprise when we received a copy of the newest issue of the ModellWerft magazine yesterday, where Faldur plays a major different role.
German model ship builder Stefan Schmischke is the designer and builder of the "Dettifoss" model, where he seeks inspiration from Faldur. He visited Iceland in 2019 and was fascinated by the use of traditional oak boats as well as the Dettifoss waterfall, hence the name.
The article thoroughly follows the process of the model ship building and the work behind it.
