OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND MY CHRISTMAS TOWN
As Christmas approaches, Húsavík is becoming more and more colourful by the hour. Everyone is decorating the houses and installs lights in the windows and gardens. The town is lit up in all colours which shine bright and welcoming in the dark of the long nights. As daylight is so limited now and we approach the shortest day of the year, Christmas lights make the long hours of darkness so much nicer. As every year, also our headquarters and boats have been decorated and sparkle brightly in the harbour, throwing beautiful reflections on the water whilst they softly move and creak in the wind.
Now over the past weekend, the Christmas atmosphere was incredible here in Húsavík. A large Christmas festival "My Christmas Town" was organized for the first time by Visit Húsavík, where Gentle Giants plays an active part. Attractive outdoor and indoor markets were held as well as many events around the whole town for young and old. The weather was good and very nice to see our hometown Húsavík so full of life in this darkest period of the year.
