COMING HOME

atlantic puffin portrait

As days pass by, the nesting season of our beloved puffins is approaching and already these last days we could spot the first returning individuals in the bay. Very soon, the entire colony will arrive to their home "Lundey" (meaning Puffin Island), a small island along the east side of Skjálfandi Bay.

All together, over 60% of the entire Atlantic Puffin population are currently returning to their breeding grounds all around Iceland. From now on and until late August, one will be able to spot these cute little birds, also called the "Clowns of the Ocean", in various places around the country.

But why not join us on our "GG2 Big Whale Safari & Puffins" to observe these colourful little birds as they fly and dive for food right next to your boat?
