REMEMBER MONDAY PERFORMS HÚSAVÍK MY HOMETOWN ONBOARD SYLVÍA

Around mid-April, Gentle Giants Whale Watching proudly participated in a very unique project:
As the Eurovision Song Contest is getting closer, this year's participants were asked to perform a cover of a song of their choice.
"The contestants from the UK, Remember Monday, were in no doubt as they chose the epic song Húsavik (My Hometown) that was made famous in the Netflix movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. The song was nominated for an Academy Award and was performed and filmed at the harbour in Húsavík for the 2021 Oscars ceremony.
And now, just as then, a new video has been produced by locals at Húsvík in collaboration with the UK artists who flew to North Iceland to perform the song in the very town it was written about." (Source: Visit North Iceland)
Sunshine greeted the band upon arrival in Húsavík and together with the local girls choir, they boarded our dear oak boat Sylvía to achieve their dream.
"We're very honoured that they welcomed us into their beautiful town and let us sing that song [...] and we're grateful that it's on film so we can relive those memories forever. [...] We've never seen anywhere as beautiful with our own eyes," are the words of the band in an interview with BBC afterwards. (Source: bbc.com/news)
Remember Monday presented us with an incredible performance that day and we wish them all the best for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest!
Make sure to watch the whole video and get carried away by the song and the beautiful scenery of Húsavík and Skjálfandi Bay!
