STUDENTS VISIT FROM FRAMHALDSSKOLINN Á HÚSAVÍK

The other day, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from “Framhaldsskólinn á Húsavík (FSH)”, the upper secondary school, to our company. The students are part of the “Starfsbraut” program, which provides education and practical experience for young people who benefit from additional learning support.

We regularly receive visits from local schools — from playschool groups to older students — and we always enjoy sharing a glimpse of our daily work here by the harbour. These visits are a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn about what’s happening in local companies and to see different kinds of jobs in their community.

During their visit, the students explored our facilities and got to see what happens behind the scenes before a whale watching tour departs. They visited our Ticket Center and dressing facilities by the harbour, and then – once oak boat Sylvía had departed – gathered in “Flóki”, our staff and office building, for a short presentation about whales and the company — all enjoyed over a cozy cup of hot chocolate.

We hope the students enjoyed their time and left with some inspiration about life at sea and the gentle giants of Skjálfandi Bay – it was a joy having you!
