CATCH THE LAST OF THE SEASON’S HUMPBACKS
Our last week of sailing is starting! Time flies - in only a few days November will be over and therewith, our 2025 whale watching season. Until then, we will continue our daily GG1 Whale Watching departure at 10:15AM.
Even as the season winds down, the waters remain alive and several humpback whales are still in the area, offering a final opportunity to observe these majestic animals before they head off for warmer waters.
Winter brings a different kind of beauty to the sea: The soft, golden light of sunrise and sunset casts a warm glow over the water, and with the days growing shorter, this light can be seen throughout the tour—reflecting off the whales’ backs and flukes, or glimmering in the spray of their blows.
Some days, everything turns white as snow falls from the sky and melts the moment it touches the ocean. The icy-blue sea and snow-covered mountains frame the scene, and each surfacing whale stands out in striking contrast against the muted landscape.
Don't miss out on your very last chance of meeting the whales of Skjálfandi Bay in 2025!
