At Gentle Giants, we take pride in being 100% locally owned – from the very beginning. Our company was founded and built by people from Húsavík, and for the past 20 years, it has been owned and operated by a local experienced captain and fisherman, Stefán Guðmundsson, who has a long family history in our Skjálfandi Bay.
We are proud to be independent and a truly locally owned family company. With a dedicated team of management, captains, guides, maintenance staff and ticket sales agents – real people working together to offer authentic and responsible whale watching experiences and other seafaring adventures.
Every ticket purchased directly supports local jobs, local families, and the local community – as we each year proudly give back to our community by sponsoring various projects in Húsavík, including sports, music, arts and education activities for children and young people, as well as supporting local charities for many years.
